We have a long-standing partner relationship with our main environmental partner, Greenways. This goes back many years and includes working together on the annual Big Clean Up event and the successful Bio Diversity Project.
The Greenways Project is a local authority lead initiative set up to look after the countryside in and around the Ipswich area. The aim of Greenways is to protect and enhance the biodiversity and landscape value of the area, whilst encouraging local people to access and enjoy the wealth of wildlife in their locality. It has been successfully looking after the countryside in and around Ipswich for the last 15 years. The Project is a partnership between Ipswich Borough Council, Suffolk County Council, Babergh District Council, Suffolk Coastal District Council and a wide range of local councils, community groups and individuals. The two project staff are responsible for looking after around 45 green spaces and nature reserves as well as promoting wildlife issues, involving the community and maintaining high quality visitor infrastructure.
