The aim of this project is to work with families and children to promote understanding between the generations and breakdown barriers to learning.
The project will provide free media based training to families in Ipswich to catalogue their life story through various forms of media. We do this through; video picture diaries, Family calendar, Life story books, film making, radio shows, mudic production, DJ workshops and comedy DVD.
CSV prides itself in working with people from different social and economic backgrounds and offering services and meet peoples needs. CSV host a number of studios and offer a wide range of media based training and activities.

Questions asked
Can my younger brother be involved in the projects?
Yes if you sign up with a child aged 12-16 the rest of the family can get involved.

Can I do this without my parents?
Yes we understand that all families are unique and function differently you could maybe learn with your older brother, sister, uncle, aunt or carer.

Can I do this if I am over 19 years old?
Yes, if you enrol with a younger relative we would love you to get involved.

What if I can’t get to the workshop?
We will find your transport but we may also be running courses in your local community.

I have someone in my family who has learning difficulties, can they still be involved?
Definitely, as CSV have non rejection policy, everyone’s contribution is valued.

Will I get a qualification or an award?
The training is free and will be a stepping stone to other opportunities, but does not provide accreditation. We will have celebrations where awards will be given.

Will I receive help if needed?
Yes, there will be a family/project officer in each session who will help and support you at all times.
Family Film Club
You will learn how to use the camera, lights, produce and edit a film and have the opportunity to engage with all aspects of filmmaking together with other families. By the end of the workshop, a musical film would be produced and screened at a local theatre.
Eight weeks workshop starting the 16th of October and every Saturday thereafter
from 12pm-2pm at CSV Media Clubhouse, 120 Princes Street, Ipswich
Salsa Dance Workshop
Learn the basic steps and a routine. By the end of the workshop, you will be able to perform free style Salsa Dance confidently.
Five weeks workshop starting on the 30th of October and every Saturday thereafter
from 11:30am-1:30pm at Quaker Meeting House, 39 Fonnereau Rd, Ipswich.

Street Dance Workshop
Learn a routine and take part in a musical film. By the end of the workshop, you will be able to perform a song confidently.
Five weeks workshop starting on the 30th of October and every Saturday thereafter
from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Quaker Meeting House, 39 Fonnereau Rd, Ipswich

Music Production Workshop
Learn how to write lyrics, compose, perform and record original songs. By the end of the workshop, you will have the knowledge to produce songs from scratch.
Five weeks workshop starting on Tuesday 2nd of November and every Tuesday thereafter
from 5pm-7pm at CSV Media Clubhouse, 120 Princes Street, Ipswich

The best bit was learning new skills, developing ideas, developing current ideas, socialising, having fun while working and learning, working with my mom, being able to express our ideas, being listened to, doing what we enjoy and like
